Judy Bean opened a store in York Beach, Maine as a way to pay for
college. This summer venture began a career.  After a move to Ogunquit, Maine
and a change of focus from swimwear to clothing and accessories
THE LAZY DAISY was born.
 
     When her sister Susie Bean Lemire and husband Doug sold their
pizza/convenience store in Lincolnville Beach, Maine, they moved home to
York with the enthusiasm for a different type of retail sales.     Together the sisters combined their entrepreneurial skills. They created
THE DAISY TRADING COMPANY in a small building on Route 1 in
York, Maine, which previously held their mothers antique business. 
     This quickly blossomed as their categories grew to furniture and lamps, home
and garden décor, as well as whimsical signs and gifts for all occasions. A new
larger building and Doug’s active role became eminent as well as
2 more seasonal locations in Ogunquit

     Finally after many inquiries an online site has arrived.
